What is the difference between GPA and CGPA?
GPA usually describes your average for one semester. CGPA combines courses across semesters. Both use credit weighting, so a four-credit course contributes more than a one-credit course.
Will the result match my transcript?
It should match when the grades, credits, and grading rules match your institution’s. Repeat courses, pass/fail classes, and rounding policies can change the result. Check your registrar’s rules before using an estimate for an application.
Where are my saved grades stored?
Saved workspaces live in this browser on this device. They do not sync across devices. Export a workspace backup before clearing browser data or switching computers.
Can I use a different grading scale?
Yes. The full GPA calculator lets you choose a grading scheme or create a custom one. The example at the top of this page uses the US 4.0 scale.
