The total and GPA illustration are separate calculations. The IB does not endorse a US GPA conversion table. Use your original scores and the receiving university’s instructions for applications.
Core points affect only the IB total. The GPA illustration gives each subject equal weight and uses no HL/SL bonus. This tool does not check diploma eligibility, including CAS and subject requirements.

How This Is Calculated
GPA = average( subject score converted to a 4.0-scale point )
Convert each of the six scores using this site’s table, add the resulting points, and divide by six. The displayed average is rounded to two decimals. Read the IB’s guidance on US grade conversion before using any conversion for an application.
