Your transcript’s grade key should decide the point values. If a preset differs from that key, create a custom scale before entering the full record.
Start on Workspaces, choose the workspace you want, and select Grading scales. The same saved scale is available in the GPA calculator and CGPA calculator.
Duplicate a close match
In the grading-scale dialog, search by scale name or country. Expand Preview grades to inspect the entries, then choose Duplicate on the closest preset.
Give the copy a name that identifies the institution and applicable year. Edit the point values against the published grade key and choose Save Grading Scale. Duplicating keeps the original preset available for comparison.
Create a scale from scratch
Choose New scale, then enter a name, description, maximum grade points and country. Add one row for each grade you need.

Use Add Entry for another grade. A label cannot appear twice, including differences in capitalization: A and a count as the same label. Points must be between zero and the scale maximum; percentages must be between zero and 100.
The percentage field does not automatically convert a course percentage in the GPA or CGPA calculator. Those tools use your selected grade and its points. For percentage-based conversion, inspect the conventions in the percentage-to-letter calculator.
Check the scale with two courses
Suppose your documented key assigns A+ 4.3 points and B 3.0. Enter one three-credit course at each grade. The quality points are 12.9 and 9.0, so the average should be 21.9 ÷ 6 = 3.65.
This is an invented check of the arithmetic, not a recommendation to use that key at your school. Replace the example values with the actual policy when building your scale.
If the result differs, inspect the selected scale, grade labels, credits and any course multiplier. Do not adjust the scale merely to make the result match a target.
Select the scale in your calculator
Saving a scale adds it to the active workspace. Open GPA or CGPA and choose it from that calculator’s grading selector. The two calculators have their own selection controls.
Changing a CGPA scale recalculates grade points using the newly selected key. Grades missing from that key are excluded from its average, and a message explains the mismatch. Their original labels remain saved so you can switch back.
Other tools have separate mappings. Creating a workspace scale does not rewrite the ECTS, IB or percentage-to-letter tables.
Edit, back up or remove a scale
Choose Edit in the grading dialog to update a custom scale. Because changing point values can change calculated averages, export a workspace backup before making a version you may want to compare later.
A scale selected in GPA or CGPA cannot be deleted from the dialog. Switch both calculators to another scale first. Presets remain locked; duplicate them when you need a variation.
Scales are stored in the active browser workspace. A brand-new workspace starts with presets; Duplicate copies the existing workspace’s custom scales and calculations. Export and import a backup to move them between browsers. People with access to the same browser profile can access its saved work.
Keep the policy beside the calculation
Use a descriptive scale name and retain the original grade key separately. A faithful point table is one part of reproducing a transcript: course inclusion, repeated courses, credit treatment and rounding rules also matter.
